Education: Bachelor of Arts, University of Georgia; Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jake Roudebush - Worship Arts

Jake and his wife, Kim, have two sons and one daughter - Graham, Clarke, and Quinn. Jake has been in ministry at North Roanoke since 1998.

Education:  Bachelor of Music, Carson-Newman College; Master of Divinity in Church Music, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky.

Jake is a caffeine bean addict (going on 18 years) who loves any kind of coffee or coffee-related product.  He also enjoys the Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends/Action Figure aisles at Target with Graham and Clarke.  He's a dedicated fan of anything guitar (shred to jazz to bluegrass) as well as food (sushi to slaw dogs), literature (The Bible, Batman, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle), TV (Food Network and generally whatever's on Turner Classic Movies), and Cinema (UPDATE:  I've now seen The Dark Knight - some of our Sunday School class went - the word I use for the movie is unnerving.  What the director, Christopher Nolan, has done is combine the best elements of (A) the summer blockbuster and (B) the long, drawn-out, self-aggrandizing "Oscar" nominee into a 2 1/2 hour piece that left us at the end sitting absolutely speechless.  Honestly, I love most comic book movies, but this makes the rest seem a bit...silly.  NOT FOR KIDS AT ALL - PERIOD).

Currently on the .mp3 player:

Paul Baloche - Our God Saves (some great tracks for congregational singing - some songs are definitely more presentational in nature - but there's a pretty good balance overall)

The John Pizzarelli Trio - Live @ Birdland (an absolutely mindblowing player to me - he's like Frank Sinatra and George Van Eps rolled up into one - check out some of his mid-'90s footage on youtube and see for yourself)

Jeff Beck - Truth (I've just finished his biography Crazy Fingers and am reminded again why he's one of the truly gifted guitarists on the planet - a true musician still creating something new at 64! What an inspiration!)

Jaguar - This Time (classic NWOBHM band - if you're a metalhead from 1984, you know what I'm talking about!)

Last DVD watched:  Jonah (a Veggie Tales Movie) - absolutely unreal - my boys (especially Clarke) love this and every time I watch it, I'm amazed at how I see something different.  I've thought about using this as a companion source when I teach a section on Jonah.  God truly is a God of Second Chances - the Restorer- and man, aren't we so thankful for that!

Currently on TV/DVD: X-Files Revelations (Since I've not seen the movie yet - this weekend possibly - I'm brushing up; as creepy as FlukeMan is, it's what you're expecting to see BUT DON'T that's truly unsettling )
